The national convention for celebrating the 50th anniversary
And in the national convention in 1999, the 50th anniversary ceremony was held with the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Seiko Noda attending. In the program-to boost the mood of the ceremony-a symposium was held with veteran members of PFC who were active in society. They sent special postcards entitled “Greetings from the Cherry Blossom Country!” to inform friends in foreign countries about the 50th anniversary of PFC. As well, international exchanges between members and foreign students in Japan were conducted.

In 2006, PFC came to a big turning point. The secretariat operation of PFC was transferred to Japan Post. Moreover, secretariat operations were conducted by the Japan Post Service Co., Ltd. in October 2007 due to the privatization of the national postal mail, savings and insurance services. In addition, the number of school members has decreased but the number of individual members is increasing. Therefore, PFC needs to change its organization to suit the times.
2007

Sent pop-out letters of encouragement written in English to various national teams of the IAAF World Championships in athletics

Sent letters of encouragement to participating teams of the WAKASUGI National Athletic Meet in Akita

The 61st National Convention for celebrating the 60th anniversary

Started the “Campaign to spread the greatness and happiness of letters” as part of PFCs 60th anniversary celebrations

Started the project of “Let’s make 1,0000 folded paper cranes for world peace!”

14219 paper cranes were sent to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Set up the project “Send letters to people affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake“
We sent 1,455 letters to evacuees centers and temporary housings in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima.

Japan World Stamp Exhibition “PHILANIPPON 2011“ was held in Yokohama from July 28 to August 2.
We set up the booth “PFC & Relief for people affected by great east Japan earthquake“.
